Panasonic Industry Invests ¥17 Billion in Thai Expansion

Panasonic Industry, a subsidiary of Japan’s Panasonic Corporation, has announced a strategic investment of approximately ¥17 billion (US$115 million) to construct a new production facility in Thailand. This expansion is aimed at addressing the accelerating global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) servers and advanced information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure. The new plant will be situated within the existing Panasonic Manufacturing Ayutthaya site and is scheduled to begin operations in November 2027, with mass production expected by the end of fiscal 2028.

The facility will focus on manufacturing MEGTRON multi layer circuit board materials, which are essential components in high-performance computing systems and electronic devices. By enhancing its production capabilities, Panasonic Industry plans to double its output over the next five years, reinforcing its position in the global electronics supply chain and supporting the rapid evolution of data centers, cloud computing, and next-generation communication technologies.
