Stellantis Appoints New CFO

Stellantis has appointed Joao Laranjo as its new Chief Financial Officer, marking the second CFO change in under a year as the automaker intensifies its turnaround efforts. Laranjo, currently CFO for North America, steps into the global role following the departure of Doug Ostermann, who resigned for personal reasons.

The move comes as CEO Antonio Filosa, who took the helm in June, seeks to restore momentum across Stellantis’ global operations. Filosa and Laranjo share a long professional history, having worked closely for over 15 years across Fiat Chrysler and Stellantis in both South and North America.

Laranjo will retain his North America CFO duties while also assuming oversight of Stellantis Financial Services and a board seat at Chinese EV partner Leapmotor. He remains based in Detroit.

Ostermann, appointed last October by former CEO Carlos Tavares, helped stabilize Stellantis’ financial position during a period of declining sales and profitability. His exit adds to concerns about executive turnover, though Stellantis reaffirmed its 2025 financial guidance and saw shares rise 1% in Milan trading.
